| COURSE GOALS
|
|
|---|---|
|
The goal of this course
is to help students develop awareness of linguistics and cultural
similarities
and differences as it applies to modern colloquial Arabic and standard English
as spoken in America. At the end of the course, students should be
able to understand, read, and write basic words and greetings in Arabic, and
better understand the cultural dynamics of the Near Eastern
culture.

| The Pennsylvania State
University is committed to providing
access to a quality education for all students
including those with documented
disabilities.
If a student has a disability and wants to request

limits a major life function. Individuals with physical
disabilities
are required to provide documentation from an appropriate health
care provider and submit it to Dr. Sharon Christ in the Student Affairs
Office. Students with learning disabilities need to contact Dr. Cora
Dzubak in the Learning Center (717-771-4026).
Accommodations
for learning disabilities are available through the Learning
Center. Students with physical disabilities
should contact Nan Flesher, Admissions
(717-771-4034).
It is encouraged that students request
accommodation need early
in the semester and, once identified, a reasonable
accommodation will be implemented
in a timely manner.
